Four Dogs in One Photo Session! (San Diego, CA)

Friday, February 19th, 2016

Oh my goodness – FOUR dogs! In one photo session! I’m so excited to share these adorable pups with you!

It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Bailey the golden retriever, Wilee the Alaskan malamute, Bella the lab/pit bull mix, and Deegan the boxer! These four dogs live together in San Diego with their owners Tara & Brian, and together they make the most gorgeous pack!! They all have incredibly distinct personalities, which really came out in our photo session: Bailey, for example, saw a few people throwing a frisbee nearby and made it clear that he wanted to play that game too, haha! Wilee is a lover; he’s quick to sidle up to you and let you pet his soft fur. Bella is the playful one, spotting a few other dogs in the park that she definitely wanted to play with, and Deegan is the newbie to the family (they adopted him on New Year’s Eve!) so I’m pretty sure he’s just happy to have a fun family and be the newest recipient of their love – even if he hasn’t quite mastered “sit” or “down” yet, haha! During our photo session, we focused on group portraits of all four dogs, and I’m loving the results – so take a look at this “sneak peek” of a few of my early favorite images! (Tara & Brian were also in most of these photos, but I know my human clients usually like to approve their photos before I post them on the internet for anyone to see, haha – so here are a few portraits of just the dogs!)

Just look at them. They make me want to empty my pockets and give them all the treats I have!

Okay, I lied, I’ll include one photo with Tara & Brian here… just because!

Ahhhh, working with 4 dogs at once. Sometimes candid photos make me smile, because honestly, they didn’t look at the camera every time… :)

Tara & Brian, thank you for introducing me to your gorgeous dogs! I’m excited to see you both again soon! :)

Sprinkles the Happy Yellow Labrador – San Diego, CA

Thursday, February 11th, 2016

It’s not every day that you meet a dog named after a cupcake… but in Sprinkles’ case, I think her name is very fitting! Sprinkles the labrador is full of life, always happy, irresistibly cute, and I’m pretty sure she brings joy to everyone she meets – just like cupcakes, haha! As you can probably imagine, this happy girl had a fabulous time running around Coronado Beach during our photo session, and I absolutely loved capturing her infectious smile… we had such a fun photo session!

Sprinkles is an English yellow labrador living the good life, and although she’s not a puppy anymore, you certainly wouldn’t know it as we walked down to the beach together! She was jumping around, running in circles, tail wagging ridiculously fast… total delight! The beach is Sprinkles’ “happy place” and it shows! And the only thing better than the beach is going with her mom. Sprinkles is a total mama’s girl… she’s absolutely devoted to her mom Delicia, and we knew she wouldn’t need a leash to keep her with us, since she never wanted to be more than 5 feet away from her mom! (Unless she was fetching a toy in the water, of course!) It was simply wonderful to witness Sprinkles and how happy she was that afternoon… I think I’m still smiling! :)

This is Sprinkles! We posed for a few photos in front of the Hotel Del at first…

… and then she couldn’t resist getting in the water! Sprinkles loves to play fetch… and she almost brings her toys all the way back, too! ;)

Pure, unbridled joy. (Or should I say unleashed?)

Okay, one last photo… I laughed out loud when I saw this blooper! Sprinkles is such a goofball!

San Diego Chihuahuas Mimi & Roxie! (Photos)

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016

I recently had the pleasure of meeting two dogs with completely different personalities! These San Diego chihuahuas Mimi & Roxie are both adorable, and both very much loved by their parents, but I’m pretty sure that’s where the similarities end! Roxie is a total firecracker: energetic, spunky, and happy to bark at any passing person or dog! She makes her opinions heard, and she knows exactly what she wants. Basically, she’s the boss! Whereas her sister Roxie, an older chihuahua mix, couldn’t be more laid-back. She’s relaxed, content, and simply happy to be with her family. There’s not much that she feels the need to bark at; just keep the treats coming and she’s a happy camper, haha! So it was a fun challenge to balance each dog’s personalities during their photo session, and I have to admit, I think the results are absolutely adorable! :)  We visited Coronado Ferry Landing and enjoyed relaxing in the green grass and pretty flowers… and Mimi enjoyed barking at all the other dogs too! :)

This is Mimi – always ready to go! I can just see the mischievous glint in her eyes…

And this is Roxie! (I figured I’d better share an action photo, so you don’t think she’s a lazy dog, haha! She has a relaxed and calm demeanor, but she can RUN, too! Especially if you’ve got chicken!)

Oh my goodness. Pint-sized pups, with so much personality!

Thanks, Isabella & Cassandra, for an amazing afternoon! I’m so glad we braved the cloudy skies for these photos! :)  Talk to you soon!

Madison the Golden Retriever! (San Diego Pet Photography)

Monday, February 1st, 2016

Have you ever met a dog that’s simply BURSTING with joy? I mean happy beyond belief, can’t-even-handle-it joyous, constantly full-body-wiggling due to a never-stop-wagging tail, whose huge smile and relentless cheer can always brighten your day?

That dog is Madison!

I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with this ridiculously happy pup recently, and she kept me smiling the entire time, haha! I love working with happy dogs & happy people, so I was in for a treat when I met up with Madison and her mom Debbie. We had a fabulous time exploring Balboa Park, stopping by Coronado, and finishing up under a dazzling sunset on the beach in La Jolla. I learned that Madison has a hard time staying still – because life is simply too exciting to just stay in one place, haha! Her antics certainly kept me on my toes, but I’m loving the resulting photos… because capturing joy like this may not be the easiest task, but it sure is worth the effort. This gorgeous girl is radiating happiness! (Make sure your screen doesn’t overheat! Haha!)

We started our photo session in Balboa Park, and I knew I wanted to find some soft, pretty flowers to frame Madison’s lovely smile! Can’t you just tell that she’s a total sweetheart?

Turns out, I was able to trick Madison into “posing” for a moment or two… and I’m glad I did! The sun gave her the most amazing halo…

Last but not least, we went to Madison’s favorite place: the beach. Don’t come between Madison and her tennis ball! :)

Debbie, thank you so much for a fabulous afternoon! I had a great time with both of you, and I’m excited to show you the rest of our photos soon! :)
