Sneak Peek: Jolie, Beau & Bella ~ {Pensacola Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Do you notice something about these dogs’ names? They all mean beautiful (or handsome) in different languages! “Jolie” is “pretty” in French, “Beau” is “handsome” in French, and “Bella” is “beautiful” in Spanish! Something tells me their mom couldn’t have planned it better! (I think those are the best languages to use, too: I got curious and looked up pretty in German. It’s “recht”. Doesn’t have the same ring to it.)

These three gorgeous Schnauzers spend their days at Mainstay Financial in Pensacola, a great local financial services company. They’re there to console people who invested in the wrong stocks, and celebrate with the lucky clients who are ready to retire! … or at least that’s what I imagine.

Here are a few photos from our session in the office and the studio! As you can see, Jolie was very excited to get going!

But soon, Beau took command of our meeting.

Don’t make him angry!

Here are all three dogs, including little Bella. It’s a wonder how they can see perfectly, even with their fur in front of their eyes!

Be on the lookout for more photos of these cute pups soon!

Easter Egg Hunt! ~ {Fort Walton Beach, FL Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Hundreds of people came out to 3 Dogs & A Chick on Saturday for an incredible Easter Egg Hunt! I say it was incredible, and by that I mean incredibly short. I heard “Ready, Set, Go!” and less than a minute later, there wasn’t a single egg left on the ground! Many people had trained their dogs to pick up the eggs, but I don’t think anyone was prepared for the ridiculous free-for-all that it turned out to be! Inside the eggs were all sorts of goodies, like treats and gift certificates to the store, and after the hunt ended, everyone walked around to socialize, see the rescue groups in attendance, and make a few paw print paintings!

The weather was gorgeous, the location was perfect, and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. It couldn’t have been a better day!

Here are just a few photos from the day – if you were there, and would like to see the full gallery of photos, please contact me at allison@allisonshamrell.com and I’m happy to send you the link + password!

I love the flowers!

Is it just me, or does this dog look ridiculously happy?

You gotta love bunny ears on a dog.

I think I caught this dog as he was thanking his owner for bringing him out to the festivities – look at how happy he is!

There were lots of exciting things going on!

… and then someone said “Squirrel!”

After a while, a few of us got pretty tired.

There are many more in the gallery… and if I didn’t have the chance to meet you and your dog, I’m very sorry! I’ll be back to 3 Dogs & A Chick in the future for a very special event that I can’t announce yet… but trust me, it’ll be just as much fun as Saturday!

Bruiser ~ {Pensacola, FL Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

Here are more images from my session with Bruiser, the handsome old boxer!

We spent our time in two different backyards for our session, his mother’s and his grandmothers! As luck would have it, they live only a few houses away from each other, and Bruiser pretty much has the run of both places. You can see a bit of the beautiful greenery and scenery (hey, that rhymes!) in the photos from each place. Here’s his video slideshow:

Yep, Bruiser’s pretty much at retirement age, and gets to sit back and relax in these green oases every day. What a nice view.

Tobey & Jack ~ {Pensacola, FL Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Friday, April 15th, 2011

These dogs are just funny – and I think they know it!

Tobey is the dachshund, and Jack is the peigle (that’s a shar-pei/beagle mix). Tobey tends to run in circles when he gets excited – and I think he loved seeing all his photos, since he practically wore a circle-shaped hole in the ground during our ordering session! It’s hilarious to see him get so worked up (especially at the dog next door – you’ll see his rapt attention at the backyard fence in the slideshow!) and Jack just sits. And watches. And probably thinks to himself, “Here we go again.”

Enjoy your video, Jack and Tobey! Try not to get too excited.

A few of my favorite photos from the session:

Thanks for such a fun session, Chad and Michelle! I can’t wait to see the products you ordered!

Saber, Tayte and Zara ~ {Fort Walton Beach, Florida Pet Photography by Allison Shamrell}

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Let me tell you what, these dogs have the life. In fact, I think the phrase “you lucky dog” was coined years ago so that it could one day be said to THESE dogs!

Saber, Tayte and Zara live with their mom, Nicole, who owns and operates the fabulous 3 Dogs & A Chick, a dog specialty store in Fort Walton Beach that’s known all over the Florida Panhandle for its incredible supply of fun, healthy goodies for dogs and their people! This means these dogs pretty much get their pick of healthy food options, organic treats of all kinds, adorable collars and leashes, and bunches of interesting toys!

And if that weren’t drool-worthy enough, they live on a gorgeous acre of land that they share with Nicole’s horse, Chick! So they spend their days running around in the grass, barking at the garbage truck on the street, and hanging out with another (much bigger!) 4-legged friend.

If I were a dog, I’d be pretty jealous.

Anyways, here’s a Sneak Peek from our session on Monday! Saber is the old guy with plenty of gray, Tayte is the big girl that has the same pretty brindle coloring as Saber, and Zara is the younger girl with white markings.

Check out the dirt on Tayte’s tongue – gross! She doesn’t seem to mind though!

Enjoy these photos – Nicole, I’ll be in touch soon!
